Tears of Joy

It had been one of those magical days;
Time to relax and unwind,
Al fresco lunch by the lake in the park
Banished all cares from my mind.

Was it the warmth of the sun on your skin
Which drew that radiant smile
And brought a glow to your beautiful face
Which I'd not seen in a while?

You started singing as we walked along
Fingers so gently entwined
It seemed the perfect occasion to share
Thoughts which were flooding my mind.

There, as the nimbus clouds formed overhead
I gazed into your brown eyes
And as you whispered reciprocal love,
Tears of joy flowed from the skies.

A story worth telling such as eating in the park and walking in love. This sounds like a winner to me!

Thank you so much, Chris. I've learnt from experience the wisdom of using the conditional mood when it comes to these contests!
