Tears of Fire

Sun your presence is felt
Long sticky days and roads that melt

Your rays they burn into the land
Turning us back to sand

You take our water to the limit
The reservoirs dry with nothing in it

Fires burn the land so dry
Temperatures soar to record high

Your tears of fire flare our way
No spots this year, hotter they say

Cooler days we pray for soon
Eclipse your rays a blood red moon

Thunderous energy smacks the earth
Wondrous moments of our worth

More tears of fire you shed our way
It’s another day
