Tears In the Rain

I was seeking out the sun,
While walking sadly in the rain.
Masked by the heavy shower,
That hid my swollen tears of pain.

What else could I have done,
To keep you from slipping away?
The anguish just wouldn't stop,
Under this blanket of cloudy grey.

I kept replaying it all over,
On the record of my mind.
Trying to pacify my feelings,
But no comfort could I find.

Was it truly my own fault,
That our passion had now died?
The question haunted my thoughts,
In this storm where I still cried.

I should have held you close,
And whispered softly in your ear.
About the endless love I felt,
But those words you didn't hear.

Had my emotions been too cold,
That brought chills to your heart?
I pray of there's a simple solution,
To help make a brand new start.
