Tears and Rainbows

Teardrops fall
From my bloodshot eyes.

Falling from my dark,
Black, cloudy skies.

Tears release heartache,
Misery and pain.

Like the earth is cooled
By drops of refreshing rain.

If my eyes are dry
And tears never flow

Then my soul
Won’t experience any rainbows
