Teardrops On Roses

I slipped on a teardrop and landed in a song
about my broken heart, cryin' all night long.
Tears started fallin' from my sullen eyes
when I knew we'd be saying a sad goodbye.

I didn't write a love song cause I was fallin' apart.
I was tryin' to be strong but was cryin' in my heart.

This time the pain hurt real bad, I cried so much.
I'll weep even more when I start missin' his touch.
My teardrops fell on roses, like the mornin' dew.
I wrote another somber line about feelin' blue.

I didn't write a love song cause I was fallin' apart.
I was tryin' to be strong but was cryin' in my heart.

Lyrics started spillin' out. They wouldn't stop,
witherin' fragile roses with each salty drop.
I slipped on a teardrop and wrote this song.
Then I sent it to the man who did me wrong.

This is not a love song but it'll help to mend my heart.
I'll put the past behind me and make a brand new start.

Well done! I can see this as a country song.
