Tear Filled Prayers
Today, I cry while praying, shedding many a tear
For all those in mankind who are trapped in fear
I weep a tear for the weak and one for the strong
And more for the lost, who aren't where they belong
I'm filled with tears for my brothers and sisters
Sorrowful for the tired; their hands full of blisters
I lament for sad people, who are melancholy and blue
But I will not mourn for me. My tears are all for you
I shed many tears for my Lord, for his pain and loss
and for hours of suffering during his time on the cross
I sob with grief for my mother and for my father as well
additional tears for every child, marooned in a living hell
I am crying tears for peace and for every heart defiled
Today, I am crying for every man, woman and child
and for every doctor and nurse, social worker and cop,
soldiers standing guard, fire fighters for flames they stop
