Teach Me

My life is filled with many things. hunger, anger, violence and hurt; But you can still give me so much. You are my teacher…teach me! Look at me--not through me, see me for who I am and who I will become. Feel for me, show me empathy but don’t pity me…teach me! Share with me those things that will make me strong, that will fill my soul and fortify me. Build me up--don’t break me down…teach me! Give me the tools to survive, not just for today but every day that is to come. I am willing, I am capable and I know I will learn if you can just see me; and then teacher… just teach me!
