At the Las Vegas hospital’s emergency ward In the midnight hour he could not be ignored Such gut wrenching seeping deep gaping pain Howling wailing haunting screams for novocaine Rattling quivering from the corner to the sounds of strife Shattering confidence I may have had in the lottery of life AP: 1st place 2021
