Tarnished Skin

Tarnished Skin By Kevin Robey October 8, 2013 I ask this of you, just one more time Save me from these thoughts of mine I miss the burn, I miss the touch One more time I'll say too much You chased away this slow decay From rabbit holes back to the fray Reminders left on tarnished skin I’ll soon give in to scars within Resolve I built on sandy shores Washed away fake smiles I wore Back home to you my shiny friend A love affair that I can't defend Cut through lies that I comprise Suppress the light I can't disguise A simple life, breathe out my lungs Escaping notes I've left unsung Time that passed without a sound Returns each time you come around Finding me on the edge of release Free of thoughts; this pure disease Moment of regret comes after sunset Bleed out my heart till my mind forgets Wash away fear as the view becomes clear Pour down the drain till’ they all disappear One more time I beg you please Take away these memories Long inhales of heavens breeze To save me from this clarity
