Tapestry

To thee I sing a dirge, As I behold the mangled sight, Pity, I couldn't turn back the hand of clock, or Edit the disfigured pattern, So grotesque as I watch, the Time-worn piece in my front, Reminding me of those far away years, You came to be by my skilful hands.

Modupe, I read what you said in a comment below explaining the poem to Matthew. that's really cool that you were describing an artist's old nostalgic piece of work.

Is this about a statue which came to life? I lile this piece and want to know of meaning which is hinted at in the last lines. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Thanks Matthew for your comment. The poem is about a work of art that has lost its beauty over time and the poetic persona is unable to restore the lost beauty. The last lines show the nostalgia feeling of the poet about the first time this work of art is made by him
