Tangled Up In Blue
I was walking, walking away
From a life so tripped up, tangled up in blue
Who are you...?
That dares to define this heart of mine
And when the tears stream down my face they burn
and remembering those words
They hurt
And when the cold wind blows you know it's best
to wait for the stillness of the night
The night
The stillness of the night...
I was walking so slow upon the path
no mind to the past yet here you are
Who are you...?
To meet me when I'm fine
That dares to define
my persona and my mind
and when your bitterness is tangled up in me
more and more I fight to be free
Subsiding within these emotions leaving me
so tangled, tangled up in blue
And as once more I walk away from the pain, the past
I look around me only to see the aftermath
Who dares to define who I am?
And when I'm tangled up in blue,
I know its only for a time in which I'll find
the sun so bright on the horizon yonder over there
but from where I stand the warmth comes from a tear
burning, streaming down my face
Tangled up and left here so remote
But if I may say, that even in the darkest times
I have faith to get me through
yes, though I'm tangled up in blue
A ray of hope
I was walking away from a life with you,
so tripped up,
and tangled
in shades of blue
