Tall Proud Man

TALL PROUD MAN

Tall proud man walking a dusty road,
Face into setting sun,
Living in poverty,
Nowhere to go or run.

Tall proud man walking a dusty road,
Tears running down his cheeks,
No shirt on his burnt back,
No shoes on his sore feet.

Tall proud man walking a dusty road,
Fears running through his mind,
No food for family,
No respect for his kind.

Tall proud man walking a dusty road,
Working sun up to dusk,
Never got dime ahead,
For all his pain and work.

He was crying,
He was angry,
He was cursing,
Day he was born.
