Talking To You

Every day I talk to you, Your wairua is at rest now, Your heart is content, Your pain is gone, My pain has only just begun. I remember when we first talked, I couldn’t stop blushing, You smiled at me and I turned away. Finding a way to reach my heart, Take away my tears and create laughter. I talked to you, Every minute of every day, Running to you in the night for a glass of wine, Bringing you food to work for those wine-overs while I was at home sleeping after. Everything finally seemed to be going well, I had my everything, I had you and then you closed your eyes. I think about our last talk, our last kiss and your final smile. You told me to be strong and I will be okay, Honey I’m not okay without you. My chest hurts and my eyes sting. I keep faking how I am every day, But deep inside I’m torn. I’m running so fast in my head to get to you. Today I talked to you, I picked flowers from our garden, I sat with you and cried. Life isn’t worth it without you. Come back and talk to me. One last time.
