Talking

You haunt me in my dreams at night, You shadow me in the morning light. How can I remove you from my mind? How do I stop thinking of you all the time? When I close my eyes, you are there. I hear your voice whispering in my ear. I catch myself smiling when I think of you. Oh Lord, help me know what do to. This isn’t something you have done. Or maybe you somehow made things fun. I must believe that you’re sincere, When we talk, you call me dear. There are many reasons that we can’t be. I’m much older and that bothers me. There are other things I really can’t say I feel guilty for those each and every day.

Funny how relationships change, shift and often take on meanings we had never intended. Old age especially does that ... LOL ... great writing here, Rita and welcome to PoetrySoup. Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday.

Nice poem, in the second stanza on the second line I think you meant 'your' instead of 'you' Consider revising to make it a tighter poem. Welcome to poetry soup where you are amongst great company...Raul
