Talk To Children

Parents need to talk to children
like they would to a friend,
They should never feel ambivalent
that they would never comprehend,
They should emote and tell them
like it is,
Life is not a fantasy,
filled with ballons, ribbons and gifts,
There are evil humans in this world,
vices that could ruin their world,
Parents have to tell their children the
real deal,
even when it doesn't have mass
appeal,
It prepares them to fight fairly,
instead of living life gingerly,
Parents owe it to their kids
to be open,
It only helps with their copin'.......

great write...and so true. I have a hard time with scaring my son unnecisarily though.
