Tales of Wonder

Dazzled by the
imagination of fantasists
   we leave our homes
temporarily
    Enter into fantastic worlds
filled with wonder and delight
J.R. R. Tolkien brought us
to the perilous realm of Faerie
Which holds danger for mortals
   Yet we wouldn't exchange the
lands he showed us
for a bucketful ot gold
There is a time for fantasy
   Dreams become realities
and we are encircled by
the work of a modern master
who has lifted us from the mundane
    to the extraordinary

This is nice, Matthew. You have written about what every reader goes through when immersed in the story of a good book. Perfect last two lines. Kind regards. Kim

Life would become boring if we didn't disappear into a fantasy world once in awhile... Thankfully , we have amazing authors like Tolkien who can help us do that... I really enjoyed your wonderful poem, Matthew. Very nicely penned!
