Taking the Road Home

sunshine silhouettes on the path,
no sign of hatred no sign of wrath

blue birds flying in the sky
no sign of lonliness no sign of why

brown, black, and white dogs running down the street
no sign of sadess no sign of weep

leaves from a tree flowing in the air
no sign of hurt no sign of where

children laughing and joking around
no sign of worrying no sign of frown

me, myself, and i taking each step in pride
the signs are all there but deep inside

To live with loneliness, sadness, worry, hatred and hurt in your heart is very difficult. The hatred can be eliminated by conscious choice, but the other emotions you are able to control make you an admirable person. Wish we could all be this strong. You have inspired me, Faire, and gained my respect in this powerful and beautifully written poem. Well Done! Wishing you holidays filled with joy, peace and love, Carolyn

Well let all those smoldering signs of children laughing and spring coming out for all to enjoy. Keep the creative and magical pen flowing. Sara
