Taking It There

I’m gone take it there because all I got in this world is love
I thank my fam, thank my lover, thank the man above
And when i’m on an anger streak, I can take it there
When i’m down and out of breath, my lovers give me air
A fair skinned female, with long black hair
Got credentials for any job, attitude like I don’t care
When i’m off up in the school, there’s not a worry in the world
I got the smarts and pretty face, my goal is to graduate
Just a few weeks away, the senior essay I must ace
Trying to balance track, school, and work
But not a problem in my case
I just take it step by step; I got to make it through these days
Independence is the search, so I can have it my way
Just like the birds when they learn to fly, I want to soar with pride
So even though it appears that I don’t care
For my family, i'm willing to take it there
