Taking It Out On Me

You’re mad as hell
At the world
And what it’s done to you

Mad because others have
A little more than you do

Mad because you want more
More than what you get

Mad because those dreams you have
Aren’t reality yet

And though I sit here by your side to love you endlessly
You feel the need to punish, curse and take it out on me

How could you think it could be right
To take it out on me

The one person who puts you first
Though you don’t care to see

Angers killed what we had
All that I had to give

Taking over everything
So nothing else can live

So please rethink the things you do
And even what you say
Because taking your pain out on me
Is what drove me away
