Notes About The Poem

Taking A Few Minutes

We had another hospital run today
I called the ambulance because I was concerned
They took him to the hospital
They said we are taking really good care of him
I still say something is wrong, but all his vitals are good
His chest was clear, and his blood work said no infection 
I am glad it all checked out to his good, but I am still concerned.

When Eagles Soar

Venus in the East 
Sirius bright and shining
October's gift to me
Upon this stressful morning.

Dawn cracks with gold and red
Wispy clouds streak the sky
A gauzy eagle flies atop outspread
Like ghostly apparition fly.

An eagle of clouds reminding me Christians shall rise!

One morning at the hospital when I was feeling low
I looked out the window and saw the sun rising

This is so lovely but sad knowing the aftermath Sara Kendrick November 1, 2025 at 3:41 AM When we were getting ready to leave the hospital (cancer), a woman arrived with the supplies (just enough for a few days) plus the pump and containers to use to suction him 24 hours a day, I said we are not going to need that very long; just a few months and she said they all say that right in front of my husband. That made me angry at her, but I kept quiet. Sara K Sara Kendrick October 31, 2025 at 4:38 PM Yes, Andrea, I knew on Thursday morning when we went back to the hospital that there was a change and somethings wasn't right even after they said all was good. I was hoping when we were at The City of Hope that he would go home, rest up and then start taking some form of treatment, but it did not work out that way. Sara K
