Takes Listening To Learn

Why do some think they know it all without listening or learning anything new? I think it’s a shame, it does not make sense. It makes me sad and blue.

I so often say I learn so much more when I listen than when I speak. Obviously! I am also a proponent of remaining silent until I have something of merit to add to the discussion. That can mean long periods with my lips sealed. Loved this, Caren.

I can be silent the longest times possible; and the curious thing is - no one notices. Once upon a time a woman in the backseat with me said "shut up. I want to hear the men talk." I shut up and did not speak the entire dinner. My husband did not even notice. But it was the last time I would go anywhere with this woman- first and only time I saw her.
