Take the Plunge
He does not know,
If he should…
Whether it would matter at all
He ponders and his mind is blank on what to do
Should he?
Could he?
No?
Yes?
Suppose it went wrong…?
Did he really care about their opinions?
Was he actually admitting,
To caring,
Bothering,
About their views regarding him?
He shook off his concern,
Wiped the doubt from his eye,
The concern from his heart
Stood out on the platform for
All to see
Where all could witness
If he made the slightest mistake
Whether he’d take the plunge
He mentally jumped up and back
Down on the springboard
He closed his eyes
His feet rebounding off the board again,
Arms outstretched above his head
The air rushing through his fingertips
And jumped…
