Notes About The Poem

Take My Smile and Give It To the Wind

Take my smile and give it to the wind,
I don’t think I’ll be using it again.
Take my heart and give it to the rain,
since you left it doesn’t feel the same.

Take my dreams and throw them all away,
I don’t think I’ll be needing them today.
Take my money and give it to the poor,
the things I need don’t cost much anymore.

You can take my home and take my fancy car,
the only thing that I will need is right here in this bar.
So take my order and give me another brew,
my life’s just not worth living without you.

If you take a look I’ll be here every night,
when it’s time to go the man just blinks the light,
He knows my name and he knows my favourite brew,
and I’ve told him all my stories about you.

He knows that I’ll be back tomorrow night,
I think that I’ll keep doing this until I get it right.
It’s the only thing I found that I can do,
all by myself while living without you.

Take care now I think I’d better go,
if I stay another moment the tears will start to flow.
And the last thing in this world you need to hear,
is me here sitting crying in my beer.

Take my smile and give it to the wind ..........
