Notes About The Poem

Take Me There

Take Me There
Take me to the place where it’s broadly known In meadows and woods famous poets roamed Where hosts of blithe yellow daffodils dance In expectation of budding romance. To view magnificent mountains and lakes And spectacular countryside landscapes In hopefulness that it all will inspire My muse to explode alike a drumfire. The Lake District I will visit one day There’s so much to view and do on a stay Such serenity and astounding grace Is found in Cumbria’s stunning showplace. *+*+* 9th January 2023 Take Me There Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Margarita Lillico

Wow, Belle, this is classic poetry, so much to admire, reading of this makes me also want to go there, a place i've visited so many time before as a young man. A place where even 'William Wordsworth' would have enjoyed reading this.

Reads like a good contender for the contest to me. Way to go. Wasn't there a famous poet from that area? Thanks for sharing and for stopping by my page. Sara

Thank you Sara. The three main poets of the Lake District were William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Robert Southey… Belle

We love the Lake District. Off the busy roads there are secret streams, waterfalls, pathways and just sheer beauty everywhere. A lovely poem Belle. You now have me yearning for another visit! :) Cheers - Gary

Belle, i think Cumbria should pay you a couple K for this, take photos & pur our an exceptionally inviting brochure! You’ve written an enticing, interest raising poem. Quite lovely in itself with easy flow and lots of imagery. Much enjoyed! Hugs, sallyred

Hi Sally, thank you for your wonderful comments, it’s most unlikely I’d be paid a fee for this poem, but it’s a lovely thought… Hugs in return, Belle
