Take Me Out On the Water

Take me out on the water I will stare up at the sky Say goodbye to wife and daughter Tell my sons I’m bound to die And my soul will float away As across the waves I wend I have played, I have prayed Now I’m off to meet my end. Take me out on the water Fire falling from the skies Was it really all for naught or Will I finally grasp the prize? For Valhalla I’ve been striving For the peace I’ve never known Tell my forebears I’m arriving And, at last, I will be home. Take me out on the water One can celebrate a life I will miss my sons and daughter I’ll forever love my wife But I seek a new horizon As I travel on the tide And my spirit will be rising When I reach the other side.
