Take Anything But You

Cut out my heart
Watch me slowly bleed
Take my eyes
So I can never again see

Take my tongue
So I can never again talk
Take my legs
So I can never again walk

Take my freedom
Lock me in a cell
Take away my soul
So my eternity will be in hell

Take away anything you want from me
I’m strong enough to make it through
There’s only one thing I will die without
It is you.

A very strong expression of devotion, Matena. But I think anyone who would take all of these things from you would not really make you happy. You deserve someone who makes you realize your own self worth. Very touching poem. Love, Carolyn
