Taekwondo

Taekwondo
The way we flow
Our hands and feet
We put on show
Jumping spinning in the air
Striking out our target there
This mighty form of self defence
A contact sport so immense
Spectacular performance of an art
The hand and foot taking part

Taekwondo
Come on have ago
Romanticism beauty show
Throughout history we’ve been taught
Mind and bodys' train of thought
Discipline to enhance the spirit
Systematic and scientific
Physical fighter that truly feels
Those traditional martial artist skills

Taekwondo
Such a calming flow
Fluid movements fast or slow
A graceful art that shapes mind and heart
Physical state of harmony’s past
Meeting a challenge with calm and peace
Shapes and conditions the whole physique
Brings well-being and inner strength
Self-control and development
So now your journey starts to begin
The way of the fist and foot within

Loved it. My young son took Taekwondo lessons. Could break a board with his foot... and was a brown belt... But couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag when needed... He did learn later tho... But the training was still good for him.

Kevin, brilliant write.... As as trustee of Deva Judokwai Sports and Community Centre I must say that my choice is 'The Gentle Way'.....although we do have an active Taekwondo club there also. Must admit though it is possibly not so gentle as to suit my 69 years now!....Ivor
