Symphony At Night
The sun has finally set,
and it’s about as cool as it gets.
The birds sing their final song,
as the daylight has gone.
The night comes alive,
with creatures who on darkness thrive.
The bats start to swoop,
as they launch in a group.
The cicadas rub their wings,
and the air begins to sing.
The crickets are suddenly alert,
and their music with the night flirts.
The stars begin to shine,
as in the sky they’re defined.
Everything seems to slow,
and the evening breeze blows.
I stand in awe,
as the symphony enthrals.
