Swiss Cheese Heart

Heart of Swiss

I try to be thankful for each blessing in life
I found my soul mate, though late, a dad for my boys

Life comes with no guarantees
This fact brought me down to my knees

Now he and our daughter wait for me on the other side
Experiencing an otherworldly ride

My youngest has graduated ready to test the world
Seeking out his own unique life

I want to celebrate, yet can’t, too sad
May he never now real strife

I want for my son happiness and prosperity
May it be what it will be

My heart is mending constantly
For each tear I shed is akin to a melon baller carving holes in my heart

I do hold tight to hope that I may meet a new best friend and
My boys will thrive
Still my heart feels like swiss cheese

Hi Jill, I came here with a smile, But Now I leave with a sad face after reading your poem. Life has not guarantees, sorry to read about your daughter and he. It is a comfort to read -you know they are waiting for you on the other side otherworldly ride. The meaning of swiss cheese makes it ever so soft. Always ~SKAT~

Thank you Skat, it's been many years since my major losses...turn that frown upside down because the light in my tunnel is getting brighter with ambition and acceptance, and hard work. xxx's, ...:), jill

wow, you were so sincere in your poem here, laying it all out. The melon baller thing was very unique! I am sorry for your loss and hope you find the consolation you are seeking.

thank you Andrea, the one constant is change, huh? the melon baller is so crude and unpoetic, yet that was the only description that was churning in my brain...also it's my first time without the full responsibility of my children since I was 24...Whew....:), jill
