Years ago, hot summer romance; Young hearts never had a chance. Quaint and backwoods southern town; She never got her wedding gown. Promised to love 'til endless time; Sudden brief affair; rapt, sublime. Picnic lunches, days at fair; Lived without one single care. Her parents did not approve. Her independence she had to prove. Secret meetings, dark whispers of love; The future wasn't much thought of. When her stomach began to swell, He said he didn't know her very well. Without a goodbye, left town in haste, First love had bitter aftertaste. Wherever she later chose to walk, She was shadowed by the talk. The whispers followed her forever. She had a lovely child, however.

A very important write...Well done TOO...Strangely, most of the girl I knew back then are grateful today...for the baby...What JOY has has it brought them...

Thank you, Arturo. I, too know people like the ones you speak of. Children bless our lives in so many ways.
