Sweetness and Sorrow

What is this, what is the reason? Why should everything have its place And every occurrence its reason? The sun shines, the rain pours Fire brings death chaos and destruction But also new life and fresh flowers Why must we question our happiness Yet yearn for it in times of sorrow Sometimes we lead, sometimes we follow. Sometimes we lend, sometimes we borrow. Sometimes overcome by joy and happiness Sometimes wracked by grief and sorrow Sometimes full and others empty Sometimes firm in our choices and beliefs Sometimes ( too often) easily tempted
