Sweet Valentine
Roses are red and violets are blue,
is a verse tried and true,
but, just not good enough for you.
What verses then should I write?
I thought upon this with all my might.
What words should I put on this card?
I would know if only I were a bard.
Maybe if I were shot with a cupid dart,
I would know where to start.
Valentine my sweet Valentine,
should I make the verses rhyme?
As I sit here in my seat,
I ponder should it be short and sweet.
I could write a poem that is long
but, I fear that would be wrong.
I think I will just say,
Happy Valentine's Day!
Will you be mine,
Sweet Valentine?
