Sweet Tart a song

Mm-mm
Yeah
Sweet and tart, baby
Mm

Life with you
Is like drinking lemonade
Layers of sweet
Followed by tart bits
And sips with pits

We always come out
Cooled after the heat
The sweet and the tart
Layer from the start
And rock and roll...
In your country charms

So hayseed?

What say you we start this shindig?
Dance it up with a bit of lemon tart?
Do you prefer tea or coffee for
Your afternoon repast?

And is it all savory?
Or do you want sweet?
To possibly unseat this firm belief
I am a better rider than you... you..

You had it in your mind...

I was a city girl
Who just liked your hat
As you admired my pearls

You thought I’d smile pretty
And stay clean from the dust
But I’ve got country in me
Under glamour and blush

But let me quick disabuse that

I am at the edge of country
And can wander within
Whenever I have that whim

I can step in the stirrup
I can step in the bar
I can talk with the farmers
Then still shine like a star

So don’t you box me in, love
I’ve got city and grit
Sweet as tea when I want to be
With a little wild in it

Sweet and tart
[sweet and tart]
Boots and heart
[boots and heart]

I can ride with the second best
And I know I took the test
And I don’t stick like glue
To a horse

But on the ground
I am the boss
And the critters
Are all charmed
A bit Snow White here

Mm, they know me

I can toss a rope
I can feed
Stack hay
Clean the gear
Pick poop
Soak pulp
Wrap boots
Vaccinate

Done it all
Deworm
Low bar
Just the same
So hayburners
Just sayin’
I know the game

I know the sweat
I know the flies
I know long days
And tired eyes
Know leather tack
And dusty reins
How love gets built
In work and strain

So when you grin
And call me pretty
Don’t forget
I can get down gritty

Pearls and polish
Sure, that’s true
But I can handle barnwork
Same as you

But let me quick disabuse that
I am at the edge of country
And can wander within
Whenever I have that whim

I can step in the stirrup
I can step in the bar
I can talk with the farmers
Then still shine like a star

So don’t you box me in, love
I’ve got city and grit
Sweet as tea when I want to be
With a little wild in it

You’re the lemonade summer
I’m the kick in the glass
You’re the slow southern drawl
I’m the lightning that cracks

You like my pearls
I like your hat
But we’re more than that
Oh, we’re more than that

You bring the country charm
I bring the spark to match
And somewhere in the middle
Is the fire we catch

So...
You still think I’m just a city girl?
ha ha!

Bless your heart

Let me quick disabuse that
I am at the edge of country
And can wander within
Whenever I have that whim

I can ride through the daylight
I can dance through the dark
I can handle the muscle
And still speak from the heart

So don’t you box me in, love
I’m both satin and grit
Sweet as tea when I want to be
With a little wild in it

Life with you
Is like drinking lemonade
Sweet and tart
And made for hot days

Mm
Country charms
Sweet and tart

Mm
Country charms

Mm
Country charms

Mm
Country charms

This really captures the balance between softness and strength in a relationship. I like how the lemonade metaphor carries through sweet, tart and a little unpredictable, just like people and love. Nicely done..
