Sweet Slumber
Sweet Slumber
The rooftops are steaming as the sun starts to warm the day.
It`s now September and the tree leaves are still mostly green.
The days are still warm.
But the nights have gotten colder.
The thought of what`s coming in the months ahead makes me wonder why I stay.
The flowers are still blooming.
No frost has crossed their paths as of yet.
Looking forward to the leaves turning yellow, orange, and red.
The animals scurry gathering for the winters solitude.
Sometimes I think that may be a good idea.
Hibernate away till spring thaw.
A good, long, warm, sleep.
Awakening to cool crispness with crocuses peeking through the ground.
Opening my eyes to a new year.
Anticipating all the new expectations.
Looking forward to all that lay ahead.
Yes, Let`s sleep on it.
