Sweet Memories
At a local home where I worked everyday,
Friendship struck between myself and a special lady.
She never came out to mingle with others,
She sat in her chair reading her journal.
I asked her what is it she read all day?
She smiled and said "sweet memories. "
"Sit down please, I want you to read. It's all I have left you know?
My mind is slipping and soon I must go.
For now while I'm still here,
I'll keep reading this dear.
To remember what life was once like for me.
In the end like always
We will all just be someone's sweet memory. "
Next morning arrived, I didn't expect her so soon to die. She was flying in the clouds high up.
I walked to her chair and a note sat where she read her journal to us.
"Here's my story, my journal, my lifes history.
Please read and read carefully.
Remember these words I say to you.
Live life, travel, everywhere too.
Like others soon I'll be forgotten,
so fast in a blink.
But my story can carry on, by me written in ink."
