Sweet Memories

Sweet Memories
Gabriel Magno © 1985

she came to me with a broken heart
left behind the world she knew
and in her eyes a thousand dreams
but they never would come true

Love was born, never felt before
seasons turned and she was mine
but winds of fate searching evermore
took her life before my eyes

here I stand, nothing more to be
all my reason fades away
still I search, as I long to see
love return in future days

tales were told reaching hearts unkind
still unheard I walk alone
but here I’ll stay as I long to find
beauty rise where love was sewn

sweet memories of a love we knew
never fade, they never die
sweet memories never more come true
memories can be unkind
