Thanks for the visit..Yes, those balls have the ability to stick into the skin very painfully..I like the color that the leaves turn in the fall and the shape of the leaves but those balls are not one of my favorite things..LOL..Sara

There are many sweet gum in my area and now I know how they propagate. Beautiful description, Sara!

The sweet gum tree that I was looking at was beside a lake and I was thinking that it would loose its balls filled with seed into the water where they would not be able to make new trees..Of course, part of them would fall onto the ground and there would produce some new saplings..Those balls will roll under your foot and you will go a spralling..Sara
