Sweats and Sweets
My quest is not your eyes
yet bluer than the ocean seas
the veneer of my desires lies
only to be free. To cast away
impassioned hearts and look
to love as mostly art.
Yet, I fail at night with stars
withdrawn to hear the songs
of love depart, to wonder threw
a broken dawn, the leaves that
fall are fast and dark.
And then I see all pleasures are
aliened in thee, so there I must
fulfill the quest to lay my head
upon your breast, and find out
far too late... that I'm the one
who took the bait.
