Susurrus of October 2020

Sunshine exudes its warm greetings of love,
Ushers fire trees to spread red carpets on the ground;
Summer breeze welcomes every passer-by,
Unlimited leisure time echoes to take some hours for a drive.
Rainbow crowns the sky once in a while,
Reflections of sun’s intermission with the rain;
Unexpected lightning with thunder’s drums play,
So many surprises await us beyond this month’s curtain.

Oh, how exciting to be at the white beach this time!
Family and friends meet and chat on the picnic ground.

Only this month that we supposed to have a break,
Children will leave the school for outdoor plays;
Teachers may or may not join them (it’s admin’s discretion)
Oh, I don’t care as long as we’ll have our birthday celebrations.
Bear here, bear there. Calling all the waiters!
Everybody will enjoy although pandemic isn't over,
Remember to pray for it on this rosary month, October.

This is a personal poem remembering my birthday celebrations. Last year 2019 was the most. My beloved mom threw a party at home with a church service and program led by our pastor. Here in my workplace were 3 consecutive celebrations in different resto with my close friend, then Indian family friends and last was a quartet. This 2020 the pandemic year, I celebrated with my 4 friends from Japanese resto down to swensen icecream shop. October is a bonding season.
