Survival of the Smartest

While counting down darn dire days 
In distant yet heartfelt embrace,
Let’s play at home like days of old 
For front line courage to unfold.
From this pandemic novel  turn 
We shall withstand and we shall learn -
Fittest is fine but last not least, 
The smartest ones shall best the beast.
