Surprise? Is That the Question?

why are we suprise by today's economic turn of events
the Bible foretold what this meant
Jesus said that in the last days critical
times hard to deal with will be here

men would be lovers of pleasures
not mankind to treasure
people would be self-assuming, haughty, puffed up with pride
people cheating, lying, thieving
then it's on the news with such disbelief in

there will be earthquakes, wars, in one place after another
fathers against sons, daughters against mothers
food shortages, pestilence and no cure for disease
these should not be surprises don't marvel at these

Jesus said these would mark the signs of the end
not a final finale, but an end to begin

Hi D-nyce. It's so nice to be back on soup and reading up on people's poems and also to be writing again. This poem of yours struck me struck me. Indeed the signs of the times are leading toward those writings in the Bible. We should just pray to the Lord that we are ready come judgement day. ~ love, Andy.

Amen to that. There is nothing new under the sun. With the help of the Lord we will make it. Thanks for commenting on my work also. I do know the Lord ears are open to our cry. He does hear and answers prayer.
