Superman

Today I was a superman,
Soaring through the atmosphere,
Faster than a gunman’s bullet
And stripped of all my fear.

Today I was a superman,
Fused with strength and super speed
And skin of firmly hardened steel;
A man who cannot bleed.

Today I was a superman,
Who stepped into a life without
Uncertainty and stray debris
Of numbing fear and doubt.

Today I was a superman.
