Superficial

I know you think I'm superficial...
no it's ok lets not pretend.
You chocolate coat your intended missles
and you are not my friend.

I hear your snide comments
that I'm showing too much skin,
acting warm just to take off another layer
and I'm not as pretty as I think I am.

I sense you dumb yourself down just to talk to me
about my clothes and hair, thats sweet
but I'm not limited to those two subjects
you feel pressure upon to speak.

I am more.
So much more.

I do not take myself at face value
nor you
but you do...
who's superficial?
