Sunshine Tears
An eye so opens, watching, discerning
No arms so placed to stretch to yawn
Yet, there, meticulously placed in heaven
It brightens the morning, enlivens with song
Its warmth, the pinnacle reaches at midday
But now, its fires, they blaze to build heat
And with the morn, the animals and all us
Welcome the sunlight and dare not retreat
With smiles so broad, we greet then the new day
To rise from our slumber and stand on our feet
So eager it seems to rise on the horizon
A vessel of beauty, a true symbol of light
Powerfully, it rules the skies of the daytime
Until sacrificing place to the moon for the night
But alas, here and now it’s there in the distance
Setting aglow, the deep varied blue of the sky
As we welcome morn, embracing the moment
While the sun takes its place for our watchful eyes
Alive, oh the feeling, that we have, it is joyous
The happiness overcomes us with tears, I now cry
