Sunshine In a Buttercup

BUTTERCUP

Buttercup wears a cheerful bonnet;
 Five yellow petals of sunshine on it;
Always smiling - sunlight in yellow -
 Leaves us joyful, yet quite mellow;
This meadow child in brightest of hues
 Winks at us through morning dews.

I loved buttercups in a meadow. As children we would hold them under our chin and see them reflect yellow on our playmate’s skin. Thanks for a sweet memory. SuZ

Hi SuZ! I, too, love to see a field of bright yellow buttercups. It seems that children everywhere know the "butter" trick. I think that's amazing. This delightful little flower just seems to spread joy wherever it is found. So glad this little poem brought back happy memories! Blessings.
