Sunshine

From my point of view
-each and every one of us is a son or daughter
-most of us have someone to look up to-
some of us were on our own
- a few of us grew up in a happy home-a lot of us did not
-most of us have childhood memories-some good-some not so much
-some of us turned to drugs-some to alcohol-
a lot of us to both

-for the few that made it into adult life unscaved…
-for those who did not fall-
we raise our glass and toast "To the lucky and the brave"
-some of us have children…- some of them have children too…
-some of us hung out in school- a few of us were bad-ass and cool
-all of us want to be loved -most of us can give love too
-all of us knew innocence..we're protected..and felt safe
-a few of us don't remember because all we learned was hate
To any of us who need to hear that someone still loves you.
..still remembers you before the scars
This is a shout out to you…A hug..a fistbump...a smile
You know who you are...you are me...and I am you
This is all of us sometimes
All of us matter to someone…We are their SUNSHINE
