Sunset

He said,

Explain it in your own words
Make sure when you explain it
It is so vivid that I can taste it

Steal the words
Give them to nature
Then hand them back to me

This morning it was a pale day
Describe this evening to me

Well I started,

With the clouds that coated the sky
They lit the sun on fire during its descent
The clouds seemed to eat the rays
And then they shone out from their stomachs
Eerie
But far more beautiful than a clear day’s death

Did you see that Max?

Yes, absolutely

Did you taste it on your tongue?

It’s burning from you

Now go to sleep, I’ll read
