Suns Switcheroo

Sun's Switcheroo Last week I saw each day the sun was shining. To be out in the sunshine I was pining. But first my work I had to do. I’d finish up my work and plan to go outside to write, in hopes that words might flow every afternoon well after two. I first would eat late lunch, then take a peek outside. To my surprise each day last week Sun hid away as dear time flew! Behind the clouds, the sun would go, and twice it looked like it would rain! That was not nice. My disappointment grew. It is a new week now; it’s after four. I’ve gone out to my deck, which I adore. Sun is out. No longer am I blue. Sun’s done a switcheroo. It will be a feat if I can stand to write more verses in this heat, feeling like I'm in a pot of stew! Aug 19, 2020 for Emile Pinet's Tail Rhyme Stanza Poetry Contest

I echo your thoughts. Here it's been raining every day and I am waiting for sun. Finally today when sun came, I felt hot in kitchen. Congratulations on your win. Take care. Warm regards, Rama

Ah - the plans of mice and men! That happens here - just when I plan to go outside to write, the wind comes up or the clouds cover the sky - the switcheroo! Congratulations on your win!

Congratulations Andrea! Your poem earned a distinguished place in my contest, due to the demands of this form of poetry I was very strict, making it a difficult contest to judge, very well done my friend, Emile.

Idea for your next chapbook, Andrea - writing about writing. Loved your poem, just wish the website could include the apostrophe in your title. Will they ever fix that? I hope so. GL in the contest.

This is so well-written and creative. We wish for sunshine--then realize it's HOT, maybe hot enough to burn away our creative thoughts. Janice

Think we are all hopeful for cooling weather, not only for relief of our skin but hoping it might end this awful season!

Sunshine certainly does brighten the mood! We keep having storms, so seize the day when the sun is out and enjoy being outdoors! At least you're not constantly losing power. Best wishes in the contest! Hugs, Carolyn

It's been like that here in the East as well from time to time. Well composed for the contest, Andrea.
