Suns Switcheroo
Sun's Switcheroo
Last week I saw each day the sun was shining.
To be out in the sunshine I was pining.
But first my work I had to do.
I’d finish up my work and plan to go
outside to write, in hopes that words might flow
every afternoon well after two.
I first would eat late lunch, then take a peek
outside. To my surprise each day last week
Sun hid away as dear time flew!
Behind the clouds, the sun would go, and twice
it looked like it would rain! That was not nice.
My disappointment grew.
It is a new week now; it’s after four.
I’ve gone out to my deck, which I adore.
Sun is out. No longer am I blue.
Sun’s done a switcheroo. It will be a feat
if I can stand to write more verses in this heat,
feeling like I'm in a pot of stew!
