Sunrise -Envelope Sonnet
There's sunrise for me in your smile each day
that makes me glad I'm with you to the end
We share all that we have and know the full joy
Of you having two girls and I a boy
They're gone from our house for themselves to fend
but visit us while our hairs turn gray
Early day hours I think of future years
She sleeps next to me not knowing my fears
of growing old and sytheman waiting grim
Spare me the loss of those I hold most dear
the aching pain of gone mobility
the thought of possible senility
Yes, it's so true her morning smile will cheer
Fills my cup of happiness to its brim
