Sunrise

As the sun slowly peeks it's head
out over the horizon.
Once again we must bid farewell
to the rulers of the night,
who are surrounded by their cool, crisp air
and numerous night creatures...
thus making room for the dawning of a new day.
Raccoon's and possum's hurry to
devour the last tasty morsel that they
were able to find before retreating
to their sanctuary's.
Hummingbirds begin to dance from flower to flower.
One can almost forget...if only briefly
the ugliness in the world.
As the sun rises further...
the sky is painted with splashes of pinks...
yellows....and oranges.
I can put on my robe...
grab a cup of coffee and sit out
on the front porch...listening to the birds sing.
This is my time...It's sunrise

Idyllic imagery made tangible by your verse. Even better that it is real. Beauty is everywhere in the world and is effortless whereas ugliness has to force its way through to spoil it. Those who cannot create are not content with leaving alone but have to destroy to mark their existence. Kind regards Ian
